Although the Economics Club is no longer able to meet due to club sponsor Michelle Foutz’s maternity leave, members will continue to participate in economics and related competitions. According to Joe Philleo, Economics Club member and junior, several club members will participate in the upcoming Fed Challenge on April 22.

Philleo said, “A couple of us (from Economics Club) are participating because (the Fed Challenge) covers similar material.”
According to Paul Clayton, organizer of the Fed Challenge at CHS and business teacher, the Fed Challenge and the Economics Challenge are separate entities.
He said, “The Fed Challenge is focused on business and monetary policy.”
Michael Wang, Economics Club member and sophomore, said he will participate in the Fed Challenge.
Wang said, “I am preparing by doing what Mr. Clayton suggests. Right now, I’m researching the balance sheet of the (Federal Reserve System).”
