According to art teacher Jen Davis, Jewelry 2 is learning how to bezel set stone. Davis said for her class’s last project, students are to make something they can wear, such as a pendant, earrings, or a necklace.
“I usually do this project earlier in the year. I switched it up this year so they can either get really involved and intricate with their projects or they can do two smaller pieces that are simpler and don’t have a lot of designs,” Davis said.
Jessica Hintz, Jewelry 2 student and freshman, said she really enjoys this class.
Hintz said, “My favorite part about this class is seeing the process of making your own jewelry and seeing how it’s created. I’m soldering two pieces of my ring together right now and I’m excited to see the final piece.”
