This year’s Activities Day is scheduled to occur on Aug. 26 during SRT in the freshman cafeteria. All interested clubs must sign up before Aug. 21.
According to Assistant Principal Amy Skeens-Benton clubs must contact their sponsor first to sign their club up for the Activities Day. She said then club sponsors must contact her in order to confirm their club’s attendance.
Activities Day is an event geared towards freshman, which means that upperclassmen will not be allowed in the freshman cafeteria during the event. Club members must receive a pass before the event from their sponsor in order to represent their club. “They have to get a pass from their sponsor, and then they can sit behind their desk and recruit,” Skeens-Benton said.
Freshman SRTs will be released by house to attend Activities Day through the announcements. Skeens-Benton said she expects about 50 clubs to sign up.
“It’s a great way to get students involved at CHS. They need to take advantage of their opportunities,” she said. By Afra Hussain
