Art Club plans several of their upcoming events, including their plans for Homecoming. Its call-out meeting was on Aug. 31, and the club will continue to have meetings every Thursday in Room H115.
Every week, Art Club meets after school on Thursday in Room H115, which is, as described by Hannah Martin, Art Club president and senior, “a way to get involved with the community using art.”
Art Club sponsor Jennifer Bubp said the club has many upcoming plans, one of which is a showcase at the Children’s Art Gallery of the works of CHS students lasting through Sept. 9 and 10. Following that, for Homecoming week, the club plans on running a booth where they will be selling tattoos and doing facepaint.
According to Martin, the club will also be creating an audience participation piece for the Carmel International Arts Festival, which’ll take place on Main Street on Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Members will discuss more information on what the piece will look like at future meetings.
Art Club members will have the opportunity to come and volunteer at each of these events; however, Bubp said, “Most of all, we just want them to come and spread the word and bring friends. That way we get to create more of an art community.”
