Global Giving, a group here that is dedicated to raise money for underprivileged children’s education around the world, plans to take part in the International Festival, according to co-president and senior Annie Tang.
The festival is from Nov. 19-22 and is located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. For those who wish to attend, tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the door.
“We’re encouraging people to attend. I think the members are volunteering their time to help with the event,” sponsor Ryan Ringenberg said.
The group hopes to raise a good amount of money through the event, according to Tang. “Since it is a five day event, we hope to raise at least $500. However, we are mostly focused on promoting our club and our project this year of sponsoring two children through World Vision in Malawi,” Tang said.
According to Ringenberg, the members have just recently delivered any funds they had to World Division, along with school supplies and materials. “We’re also going to continue to collect used or new books and donate them,” Ringerberg said.
The group is also thinking about a future bake sale.
“Our main objective is to raise money and donate all of it to World Vision,” Ringenberg said. By Darlene Pham <[email protected]>
