Bands to have concert Feb. 25

On Feb. 25 the band department will have their annual winter concert. All five wind symphonies will be playing, including two freshman bands. The event will be held in the auditorium and starts at 7:30 p.m.

Students spend their band periods preparing for the concerts, playing a variety of music. Director Christopher Kreke said, “The students put in a lot of time preparing for the concerts. We direct them, but we also hold playing tests in class to make sure they are progressing, and prepared for the concert.”

Many of the band parents and the community on a larger scale attend the event.

Kreke said, “We look forward to the concerts as not only as a band function, but a way to showcase our students’ effort and talent to the community at large. It is a good way for their parents and others to see what the students have been working so hard to achieve.”

Sophomore Mark Ostermeyer, a trumpet player in Wind Symphony 3, said, “I look forward to the concerts. They are fun, and it is really great to play in front of an audience.” By Grayson Harbour <[email protected]>
