LifeLines is currently busy with activities for Pre-Prom Awareness Week, which is from May 4 to 8.
According to sponsor Rebekah Overbey, the members will be doing a series of announcements.
“We have a video that we’re hoping to show at the end of announcements on Thursday,” she said.

Overbey said the focus is making good decisions.
“Prom’s that time when people get tempted to do silly things,” she said. “We want the students to stop and think about the choices they make. Go out, have fun, have a great dinner, hang out with your friends, enjoy spending life together and each other, but don’t do stupid things like drugs or alcohol, or just choices that could affect your life forever. You want to make it memorable, but not in a negative way.”
Co-president and senior Sydney Burget said this event is important.
“It’s important to celebrate because prom is a major event for schools and the number of accidents,” she said. “It’s a big deal this year because since prom is downtown, (so) if a student (were) to get in trouble, it is with Marion cops, I believe, and not Carmel. So of course we are going to be promoting smart decisions.”
