Brain Game kicks off this month

On Feb. 20, the school’s sixth annual Dance Marathon took place. Dancers were packed into the Freshman Cafeteria for approximately six hours, and at the marathon’s conclusion Senate and House members revealed the total amount of money raised, which was the largest sum yet $174,545, which surpassed last year’s total by just over $15,000. As most students are aware, all of the proceeds benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

According to student body president Steven Brisley, the event was a success; it played out smoothly and had positive results, a claim that is supported by the overall monetary accumulation. “It was really fabulous,” Brisley said.

The Senate, which had been working with House since early January on the major event, is proud of the monumental accomplishment, according to Senate sponsor Michelle Foutz. However, said Foutz, there will not be much time for a break, as SRT-based games will be taking precedence on the agenda now.

“We have Brain Game starting up in February,” she said, “and then March Madness.”

Brain Game does not currently have a set date for its kickoff, however, it is expected to kick off later this February. By Beverly Jenkins <[email protected]>
