The Color Guard team is looking ahead to Grand Nationals, which is scheduled for Nov. 11 to Nov. 13 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Senior Letitia Li said she is excited about performing at Nationals.
“It’s been tough, but I think we’re going to have a good performance at Nats,” she said.
According to Li, the Color Guard will leave school on Thursday, Nov. 11 and then Friday and Saturday will consist of the preliminary performances.
Li said Avon is the team’s biggest rival because “they’re so close, and we’re both Indiana bands.”
After the fall Color Guard season, Winter Guard tryouts will be Nov. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Director Rosie Queen said Winter Guard is a lot like Color Guard, but there are a few differences.
“The guard performs indoors and performs without the band to recorded music; it’s a much more dance intensive activity,” she said.
Li said this year, for the first time, she will be a part of Winter Guard.
She said, “It’s a lot more personal and you have to perform a lot more. I’m really excited and I love everyone on the team.” By Emma Neukam <[email protected]>
