According to club sponsor Jeremy Horner, Gay-Straight Alliance is scheduled to have a Thanksgiving party on Dec. 2.
During the last meeting, the club members made thank-you cards to give to teachers or administrators who they think have been particularly encouraging or helpful to the club’s cause. These people who receive the thank-you cards will also be invited to the Thanksgiving party, according to Horner.
“This is our way of reaching out to other teachers or friends of our members. This party is completely new, and we have never done something like this in the past,” Horner said. “Other than that, we’re just about wrapping up for the year.
Gay-Straight Alliance is in essence a forum group in which members can discuss recent news and social norms.
“The Gay-Straight Alliance promotes and markets a safe environment for people who have different sexual orientations. People should join, because it’s for a really good cause,” club president Gracie “Grace” Woerner said. By Tony Tan <[email protected]>
