Student government to host dance after Jan. 29 basketball game

On January 29 after the basketball game versus Ben Davis the student government is hosting the Neon Dance in the Fieldhouse. Tickets are $5 but are discounted to $3 when students attend the game.

According to Katelyn Daley, chair person for the dance and senior, the Neon Dance differs from the winter formal dances of the past because it is casual. “You can wear whatever you want as long as it’s school appropriate,” she said. “It’s great because girls don’t have to worry about painful heels and guys don’t have to worry about wearing ties.”

Another difference, Daley said, is that the dance is less couples oriented. “It’s not a couples-only thing. Groups of friends can definitely go together,” she said.

Students interested in going to the dance can purchase tickets at the door. In fitting with the neon theme, glow sticks are available for two for $1 at the dance. “(The dance) is a great way to highlight the basketball team. They’re having a great season,” Daley said.
