Students bring home Model U.N. awards

Of the students who went to the IUPUI Model U.N. conference, several won awards.  Hadden said that although not everyone was especially recognized, everyone did a great job.

“From what I saw, everyone from CHS was working hard toward a consensus and cooperation. I was very pleased with our work,” she said.

The award winners include senior Marianna Cooper and senior Cassandra Gelov for Best Delegation representation for Pakistan in the World Health Organization. Senior David Zheng and senior Donna Chesnova won Best Delegation, representing Romania in the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

According to junior Nikhil Dharan, who participated in Model U.N. this year, the conference was overall a success.

“Even though my partner and I didn’t receive any awards, we still feel as if we represented our country well and had a good time,” he said.

Hadden said that from now on, Model U.N. will not have any more meetings.

“After the conference, we’re pretty much done,” she said. By Kendall Harshberger <[email protected]>
