Astronomy Club plans to host another telescope viewing session at the Sheridan airport on a mid-November evening. The exact date is still yet to be decided.
According to sponsor Keith Turner, there are no other events planned for the long term due to the lack of time for club meetings. Astronomy Club is only able to meet when both the sponsor and the members have time, which is usually during SRT.
“Meeting after school just doesn’t work out most of the time,” Yanying Chen, club president and sophomore, said via email.
“This year won’t be that different from last year,” Chen said. “My friends and I attend most of the events like meetings during SRT and going to help out with the shows each month.”
New members have not shown up for the club, despite the large turnout at the callout meeting at the beginning of the year, according to Chen.
“Astronomy Club is truly fun, and I enjoy being in the club,” she said.
