Members of the Muslim Student Association plan to host their first second semester meeting on Jan. 24, Fariha Hossain, club president and senior, said. Following the retirement of Dora Mulcahy, previous club sponsor and world language teacher, Hossain said the club has found a new sponsor, world language teacher Carolyn Mohr, and said that members have new goals this semester.

“Organization and a fundraiser are our primary goals this semester, so it’s easier for the juniors and sophomores and freshmen in the upcoming years,” Hossain said. “We’ve changed the officers to a board thing of four presidents so that we manage to be more effective. I guess we’ll have to wait and hope time will tell us or show us how this goes.”

In addition, members of the club will host events such as dinners and parties, much like first semester, Hossain said.

Members of the club continue to meet on Thursdays after school in Room A232, club sponsor Mohr’s room. Mohr said, “I’m excited to sponsor this club this semester and expect wonderful things from the members.”
