CRU will be sponsoring a dodgeball event for the whole school on Thursday, Nov. 14. To be admitted, students must turn in a form and pay the entry fee at the activities office. The cost per player is $2 or a donation of canned goods. All of these proceeds will go to Riley Hospital’s Operation Sunshine club.
Students will be allowed to choose their own teams consisting of 10 people. Everyone who misses the deadline of Nov. 13 can still pay at the door but will lose the opportunity of choosing a team.
CRU sponsor Kim TenBrink is very excited for the event and predicts it will be a huge success.
“Every year this occasion takes place, there is a huge turnout and everybody enjoys themselves,” said TenBrink.
Freshman and Sharing and Living Together (SALT) member Abby Leonard feels the same way. “I’m really excited about the game,” said Leonard. “It’s (CRU is) all about giving back. That’s why everyone should be there.”
At the fieldhouse, pizza and refreshments will be available to everyone and after the game, because CRU is a faith-based organization, students will listen to a gospel message.
TenBrink said, “But they don’t have to listen to that (the gospel message), they can go somewhere else if they want to. I think it’s just exposing what CRU is about.”
