Speech team plans to meet on Feb. 20 in Room E149 to continue to prepare for the district meet. The time and location of the meet is not yet determined. At the meeting, they will practice their scripts in front of the entire of the group, according to club sponsor Jacleen Joiner.

“I have seen the team being very capable to do well, I expect nothing less than the best from them,” Joiner said.

Like many of the other participants, club member and freshman Mallory Roach is preparing both at home and at meetings for this upcoming competition. Roach goes over critique from the last meets as well as her scripts. Roach will perform in improvisational duo and original oratory at this meet.

“I’m trying these techniques so I can try to improve my performance at the next meet,” Roach said.
