Co-sponsor Caren Rickett plans her day. She said the Swing Club plans to have a dance in the community room soon.
The Swing Club plans to learns more steps, so they can be prepared for an upcoming dance.
According to president and senior Shea Rhoutsong, the club will learn harder moves this semester.
“We’re in the semester where we start doing aerials. We’ve gone through the ‘Lindy.’ Hopefully we’re going to do the ‘Straddle’ and getting some other steps down, so we can do harder (steps) like ‘Around the World,’ the ‘Corkscrew’ and the ‘Angel,'” Rhoutsong said.
Co-sponsor Caren Rickett said the Swing Club, which is completely run by the students, plans to hold a dance soon.
She said, “They haven’t settled on a date yet. We’re probably going to use the community room this year for our dance as opposed to the Freshman Center, so it’ll be a smaller venue. We’re also talking about having a live band with the dance.”
Rhoutsong said they have about 15 members right now because they lost a few members to Tech Hounds.
She said, “We knew that (people would leave). We always lose some, but it’s good because they always come back.”
