After a premiere performance at Open House, the Ambassadors are now looking far ahead into the year. Events in the works include a trip to Disneyworld in March to participate in a national show choir competition.
“Like years before, the biggest thing is competition,” Kelly Krauter, member of the Ambassadors and senior, said. “We obviously still have the big concerts like ‘Holiday (Spectacular)’and ‘Evening (with the Ambassadors),’ which we will do with the Accents again.”
Ambassadors director Lamonte Kuskye said that they have had a wonderful start to the year and that their first major performance will be the Fall Concert. The concert will be held on Sept. 30 at the Dale E. Graham auditorium at 7 p.m. and it will feature all choirs.
“We have a fantastic group here, with the new members and new dynamics. Everyone is working so well together. I’m just so excited for this year,” Kuskye said.
For senior Kelly Krauter, this is her second year being an Ambassador and she said that things are picking up right off the start. She said that they have already started morning rehearsals on Thursdays and Fridays and another rehearsal from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesdays. In addition, she said that she is expecting rehearsals to increase as they draw closer to events like Holiday Spectacular and their competition season.
“It’s demanding, but we have to have good work ethic. It is important to be disciplined,” Krauter said. “ But, I mean, we definitely still have fun.”
