Shameem Zia, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Club (FCCLA) secretary and junior, said she is looking forward to the FCCLA meeting scheduled for Oct. 21. This meeting will take place after school in Room B176 and is intended for all members of the club.

“I think this meeting is especially important for all officers to attend so that we can better understand our duties in the club,” Zia said.

FCCLA sponsor Brooke Weekes said the meeting might be rescheduled, as it is the day before fall break, but as of now, Oct. 21 is the planned date.

Weekes said officer elections took place Oct. 5 and most positions are already filled. However, some positions still need to be held such as vice president of STAR Events, vice president of National Programs and vice president of Membership. FCCLA members interested in these positions should contact Weekes as soon as possible.

“I think the new members should definitely attend this meeting and learn more about what their responsibilities will be as members of FCCLA and how they can make the most of this year in the club,” Weekes said. By Erum Rizvi <[email protected]>
