Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) is scheduled to have Cooking 101 at Kiss Z Cook on Nov. 4 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cooking 101 along with Zumba Teens, Teen Pilates, Teen Yoga and Teen Cycling reaches out to the interests and needs of students.
Cooking 101 is a class for ages 13 to 17 which offers some of the basic skills associated with culinary training. Students can make different dishes using special techniques and ingredients while also learning knife skills. According to the CCPR marketing manger Lindsay Labas, activities geared toward teens are the ones being pushed. One of the programs being emphasized is Teen Council.
“Teen Council is a group where the teens give their feedback on programs and activities that they would like to see offered,” Labas said.
Participating and volunteering for the CCPR, according to Labas, is a great way to get involved, to meet people with similar qualities and also to have a good time.
“By participating in programs through Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, students have the opportunity to meet other teens interested in the activities and hobbies they enjoy,” Labas said. By Audrey Bailey <[email protected]>
