The ComedySportz team will compete in its third and fourth home matches of the season on March 21 and 22. The matches will take place in the Studio Theater. Tickets cost $5 and are available online at ticketracker.com or at the door.
In order to prepare for these matches, the team has been participating in regular practice. Piper Dafforn, ComedySportz captain and senior, said practices have gone well so far and said she is pleased with the team’s progress.
“I love practicing,” Dafforn said. “We all get along really well. Being with so many people who are so hilarious definitely causes fun things to ensue.”
In terms of developing as a team, ComedySportz sponsor Jim Peterson said the team has made great progress from the beginning of the year and the team members have become more experienced after competing in their first matches.
Peterson said, “They’ve become a much better cohesive group and a lot more comfortable which I think is a lot. Confidence is so much of improvisation so I think they’re just gaining some confidence and I think just by doing the matches they’ll gain even more as we go.”
Overall, Dafforn said she is excited to have another opportunity to compete with her teammates.
Dafforn said, “I’m just excited to play. I love playing. The team is made up of all my best friends so I’m excited to spend time with them.”
