Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation (CCPR) plans on having Family Bingo & Pizza on Jan. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Along with this event, CCPR is planning Prince Charming’s Ball which is geared more toward smaller children.

Family Bingo & Pizza allows families to join the Monon Center staff for food and bingo. The participants that win receive a prize.

Starting Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 to 9 p.m., Prince Charming is another event the CCPR is sponsoring, but it is geared toward children and mothers. The event is that of a ballroom style and the night includes dance, snacks and punch. During the dance, mothers and sons will have the opportunity to take pictures.

With different events taking place, CCPR marketing manager Lindsay Labas said that volunteering and participating can have several positive effects.

“Working with Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, one has the opportunity to work with our great staff, have hands on experience and see how programs are run,” Labas said.

Besides the positive aspect of gaining work experience, Labas said participating and volunteering can be a great way to meet new people and participate in a good cause.
