According to the one of the club officers Rohan Arora, Chess Club invites new members each week, and it provides an atmosphere where any student can meet and play chess with other members no matter the skill level.
Every Monday the students meet in Room F104 to play chess and any other board game they bring themselves to take part in with eachother. The students run the club themselves and organize the events that occur during the meetings.
“Scott Lutz and myself decided last summer to start up Chess Club because we wanted to meet new people while playing a game that we are good at,” Arora said.
“I allow the students to plan everything, including the meetings and any competitions against other schools,” sponsor Margaret Winans said. By Audrey Courter <[email protected]>
