The media center is scheduled to start their annual M&M contest on Feb. 2. The contest will take place during SRT on Feb. 2, 4, 8 and 12.

Media manager Francie Sands said, “A student will read a paragraph from a book on the announcements and the SRT classes will try to guess the title of the book. SRT teachers will send down a ballot with the title to the media center. Then, (the media center) will draw one of the slips with the correct title on it and that SRT wins a bag of M&Ms.”

On the final day of the contest, the media center will draw one ballot from all the winners and the SRT drawn will win a pizza party.

According to Sands, all books read on the announcements will be either Rosie nominee books or children’s books.

Kelsey Campbell, media center student aide and senior, said the media center provides a variety of resources and activities outside of books. She said, “Students can study here, and we have computer resources, fiction and nonfiction books and equipment such as cameras for students to use.” By Caroline Zhang <[email protected]>
