The Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation(CCPR) is planning Pitch, Hit and Run on April 25 at 2:30 p.m. Along with this event, Nickel Carnival is a popular spring event according to marketing manager for the CCPR, Lindsay Labas.
Located at West Park, Pitch, Hit and Run is a competitive program where boys and girls ages 7 to 14 can display their pitching, hitting and running skills. Winners can advance to Team Championship events at the 30 Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the MLB All-Star Game. A valid birth certificate is mandatory.
For the Nickel Carnival on April 16, volunteers would be in charge of the majority of the event.
“For the Nickel Carnival we would need volunteers to run the carnival games,” Labas said.
Pitch, Hit and Run on the other hand does not necessarily require volunteers. According to Labas, this event is more of a participation one. She said that taking part in this event is a great way to enjoy the change of season and meet new people.
“The best part (of participating) would be getting outside in the spring weather and interacting with children and the community,” Labas said. By Audrey Bailey <[email protected]>
