Vocational building trade class works on deck

After a few weeks of work on the deck, the vocational building trades class ran into some unexpected delays.

“When we removed the old deck boards, we found some rotted boards that were supposed to support an exterior door,” John Coghlan, the vocational building trades teacher, said. Coghlan had to consult with a stone mason to get an opinion on how to remove the exteriors stones to access the rotted boards.

The situation has since been resolved and the class has started the process of rebuilding the deck and work should continue to the end of the school year.

On days when the weather is bad or when the class can’t work outside, vocational building trades continues framing the basement. By Julie Kippenbrock <[email protected]>
