Orchestra chamber music concert Feb. 3

According to orchestra director Rachel Tookolo, chamber music groups from all orchestras, except freshmen, will perform in the orchestra room on Feb. 3 with times to be determined. The cost of admission is free, but donations are accepted.

“We do this every year and it’s a different experience than a regular, large orchestra,” Tookolo said. “Students have to be more independent, know the music more and kind of lead.”

Also, Tookolo said people with different orchestra backgrounds in the community will coach the students.

Stephanie Pittman, member of symphony orchestra and senior, said ensemble groups offer a new perspective.

“We don’t have a conductor, so there has to be a leader,” she said. “It makes you have to communicate better.” By Tracy Sun <[email protected]>
