The Chess Club will begin taking orders for its official club T-shirt on Monday Jan. 10, according to Rostam Razban, head of shirt sales for the club and senior. Students who want shirts must turn their orders in before Monday Jan. 17. Students do not have to be members of the club to order shirts. The shirts cost $12 each and are available in either black or white. The club will only accept cash payments. The shirts are expected to arrive in Feb.

According to Razban, the Chess Club had a difficult time picking the design for the front of the shirt. However, he said he was happy with the one it finally chose. “The design is pretty cool,” Razban said. “It has two crossed C’s. It kind of looks like the Chanel brand. The white and black represent a chess board.”

The club will have various video announcements on CHTV with additional details on the shirts.

Margaret Winans, Chess Club sponsor and business teacher, said she expects the shirts to turn out well. She encourages any student who wants to improve their skills in chess to attend future Chess Club meetings. The club meets every Monday after school in Room F103. By Aruni Ranaweera
