Kids Against Hunger Club is scheduled to attend a food packaging event at the American Red Cross building in Noblesville on Feb. 19. According to club sponsor Maggie Cassidy, permanent meeting times for the club remain unplanned.
“We meet once or twice a month on average,” Cassidy said. “Listen for the announcements that list meeting times. If a meeting cannot be held due to weather, we would reschedule it for the following day.”
With the recent winter storms the club has dealt with its fair share of delays, according to Chris Law, club president and senior.
“The snow and ice had delayed my planning for this month and hopefully it hasn’t delayed the shipment of food to other countries,” Law said. “I guess that just depends on where it’s going to and or from. Regardless, we make up the meetings we miss.”
At a typical meeting, Law said he goes over the planning of future events and once everyone is working he assists the new members with necessary forms and information about the club before closing with time to answer any questions.
He said, “If you are interested at all in joining, just swing by Ms. Cassidy’s room, E151, and ask for information. If you come during SRT I will even be there to answer any questions or concerns you may have. New members are always welcome.” By Kelly Clark
