Global Giving, the club dedicated to providing relief to kids in need around the world, has recently started planning their annual book drive. Although this is the main project at the moment, many other fundraisers are in the works for the club.

Members are getting ready for the book drive held every year. They will collect books donated by students here and take them to Half Price Books at the end of the drive. The money they will receive from the bookstore will be collected and sent to a relief program designed to help Pakistan.

The club is also planning a dance competition. The competition has a tentative date set for April 16 in the auditorium. The members are still working out plans for the competition and there are little set specific details. They are currently waiting for approval of the plan from the administration. All money raised will go toward World Nation, the service the club is supporting this year. Anusha Gajaria, club member and sophomore, said, “I am really excited for this. We don’t usually do something that can get everyone involved so it should be different but a lot of fun.”

The club is working on fundraising but still has the Falling Whistle campaign, a service that helps children by using money raised by selling whistles to donors interested in the cause, on their agenda. Sponsor Ryan Ringenberg said, “Well, as of now I think the campaign is on the backburner of club members’ minds. It isn’t forgotten but they are busy working on raising money for other things.” By Kelly Sheridan
