The Senate is currently planning the blood drive and Greyhound Games.
“We are planning the spring blood drive, we’ve been doing sign ups during lunches and we’ll be organizing the time slots,” said Jeremy Weprich, Student Body President and Senior. According to Weprich, the blood drive will take place on Thursday May 5 in the field house.
Greyhound games, which was originally scheduled for this past weekend on Saturday April 23, has been postponed due to weather issues. The new date for Greyhound games is yet to be decided.
In the meantime, Weprich said he encourages more people to sign up. “Because [Greyhound Games] has been postponed, we are accepting more participants,” Weprich said.
Forms for Greyhound Games are available in the activities office.
According to Michelle Foutz, Senate sponsor and social studies teacher at this school, the proceeds from Greyhound Games will help melanoma research. Foutz said that melanoma affects many people, but does not get enough attention.
“The purpose of the event was to raise money for melanoma research which is an issue close to our hearts [on Senate].” By Mackenzie Madison <[email protected]>
