Chemistry Club demonstration Oct. 28 at Carmel Elementary

According to Chemistry Club sponsor Virginia Kundrat, the Chemistry Club demonstrations will no longer take place at an IPS school, but instead at Carmel Elementary School. On Oct. 28, club members will be dismissed from their fourth period classes around 2:20 p.m. to meet up and walk or drive over to the elementary school, she said.

“It’s a good learning experience to see how (the demonstrations will) go. I’m sure it will go fine though,” Kundrat said.

The demonstrations will take about an hour long and consist of labs on water and density, such as the disappearing water bottle, the ice cube demonstration, and making ice cream.

“Having a hands-on opportunity is a really valuable one, and I hope the kids can learn as much in a different way than (they would with) traditional learning,” Melinda Song, co-leader of the club and junior said.
