According to sponsor Jim Peterson, the Comedy Sportz Team held auditions on the 7th. The original members, juniors Leo Biette, Megan Arrington and Bill Pfohl took part in picking the representatives.
“It’s too early to tell since we just had auditions but it’s a great team with leadership,” Peterson said. As of now, Peterson said, Biette and Arrington share the positions of Captain and Manager of the team. Peterson said that together, along with Pfohl, they will be hosting the “Behind the Scenes” talent show on Oct. 4, one of their major events during the first semester.
Phol said they will spend the first semester learning the rules of the game and practicing their improvisational skills, because the team’s season is during the spring. Their first home match will be on Feb. 15. “I like the team so far and I think that we’re funny,” Pfhol said.
Comedy Sportz performs improvisational comedy in a sports-like setting and has been at CHS since 2001. Last year, the team won the high school league tournament. They also won against a professional adult team. “We continue our tradition of excellence and humor,” Peterson said.
