The Indian Student Alliance (ISA) will have an end-of-semester party after school on Dec. 21 in Room A300. The meeting will be slightly longer than normal meetings. The ISA will provide Indian food and music for the members to embrace their culture.
The party was originally supposed to be organized for Diwali, one of India’s most important festivals. “We just finished a Diwali festival. We had a table and sold food. We got $102,” Nida Khan, co-president of the ISA and sophomore, said. However, because Diwali occurred on Nov. 13, the party will be organized as an end of semester party instead.
Paige Wehr, sponsor of the ISA, said, “It will be an end of semester, ‘Yay, you’ve made it and survived,’ kind of deal.”
The members of the ISA will not only celebrate at the party but also plan more ways to get the club going. “We will be discussing ways to get some funds if there’s anything else we want to do,” Rushi Patel, co-president of the ISA and sophomore, said. “We’ll be looking for ways to advertise our club.
“We’re going to have a lot of food and play some music,” Patel said. “We’re going to have a good time.”
