Intramurals is scheduled to have its next meeting on Dec. 17 for all five-on-five basketball teams.
Intramurals head sponsor Kyle Cluver said “They will play a game every week, if not twice a week, from January through March. It’s pretty extensive. They play about ten games. Most games (are) after school in the fieldhouse from 6 to 10 p.m., kinda depends on what time your team gets there and you get one hour.”
The three-on-three basketball tournament recently finished. The first three days, all of the teams played one another and on the last day, a double-elimination style tournament was played. The winning team won after a close call, with the winning shot being taken only shortly before the buzzer sounded.
The process of putting together teams for five-on-five basketball is just beginning. Teams can be formed anytime from now until winter break. Each team will consist of ten players, and there will be a cost to form a team due to the tournament being officiated. The winners of the tournament will play during SRT and receive a championship t-shirt designed by some of the club members.
Nathan Robbins, member of Intramurals and senior, said, “I can get all my friends together and we can play and I know (that) all my friends that play sports (are) all somewhat athletic so we have a chance to win.”
