This week is the annual Red Ribbon week for LifeLines. Red Ribbon week is the week in which LifeLines uses red ribbons as a way to raise awareness to the dangers of drinking, doing drugs and making bad decisions.
Austin Radar, Lifelines president and senior, said, “We really feel like this campaign can help people make better decisions overall. We can definitely make a difference by raising awareness.”
The Red Ribbon week is fronted by the red ribbons passed out to students during SRT. The ribbons symbolize a way to raise understanding of the consequences of making bad decisions. The campaign is also helped by the numerous posters that have been put up across the school.
Also, the trivia question of the day has been put up while members go on the school-wide announcements. Such questions are there to show how many how many bad decisions can be caused by drinking and driving.
Volunteers have been tying the ribbons and making posters and banners. Sponsor Rebekah Overbey said, “The volunteers who have come out to aid us have been a huge help in setting up the week.” By Shayan Ahmad <[email protected]>
