Comedy Sportz sponsor and IB Film teacher James Peterson starts his morning preparing for the day on Thursday, Aug. 29. Peterson will hold auditions for Comedy Sportz on Sept. 9 in P123.
Comedy Sportz members will meet in P123 on Tuesday, Sept. 3, to discuss plans and goals for the school year. The main focus of these efforts is to emphasize the true intentions behind each performance, letting audience members participate for their overall enjoyment and making sure everyone is having fun.
James Peterson, Comedy Sportz sponsor and IB Film and Theatre Arts teacher, says the members casually play games and chat while practicing different comedic approaches to result in their goal of instant gratification: laughter.
“We mainly hope to continue to deliver the same quality of fun that we delivered in the past,” Peterson said.
Rex Williams, Comedy Sportz club leader and senior, rehashes the importance of making everyone, both club and audience members, feel comfortable to be their authentic selves throughout the entire performance and reflection period.
“My favorite part is the camaraderie between the teammates and just building chemistry with different people,” Williams said.
