NHS to have meeting Dec. 7

The National Honors Society will conduct their next meeting on Dec.7.

NHS, which oversees much of the fundraising and charity directed activities at CHS, has had their hands full recently. According to Jacob Smith, three fundraisers are going on at the same time.

“NHS is working on delivering ‘Sanitation Station’ packages to each teacher at CHS, consisting of a box of tissues and hand sanitizer,” Smith said.

According to Smith, this will benefit the school by protecting students and staff from illnesses.

“Hopefully we will be able to help prevent illness through Sanitation Station,” Smith said.

But those are not the only projects going on.

“We are also working on Final Exam Survival Kits (FESKS) and are beginning to plan for the carnation sale in February,” Smith said. According to Smith, the carnation sale is the largest fundraiser that NHS does.

Smith, unlike the majority of NHS members, will have a more active role in all the decision making that goes on during the meeting.

“I will be leading the meeting and announcing new opportunities for members,” Smith said. By Balaarasu Jayakumar
