According to Assistant Principal Joseph Schaller, much of the carpeting throughout the school will be converted into terrazzo, a composite material composed of glass, granite, quartz and marble. Although the official date of completion has yet to be announced, the renovation is expected to occur during the summer and finish prior to the start of next year.

In addition to new terrazzo flooring, the computer lab in the media center will also be renovated into a more collaborative working environment.

“Instead of individual computers, there will be stations with big screen TV’s that will allow for many students to work from one computer,” Schaller said. “That way, students will be able to work on and maybe even present projects more efficiently.”

According to sophomore Abby Frank, the introduction of a collaborative computer lab will be beneficial for projects.

“This new layout will definitely help students that want to do projects at school,” she said. “Working from a big screen TV will be less confusing than working from a single laptop.”
