The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced today that 46 CHS seniors have qualified for National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists for 2014. These seniors will now compete for 8,400 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $36 million offered in the spring. The prestigious semifinalist status requires outstanding academic records throughout high school, endorsement and recommendation by students’ high school principal and a high score on the PSAT. Scholarship winners will be announced in April 2014.
Principal John Williams will address the Semifinalists and their parents at a reception on Sept. 27.
