Jazz Ensemble I will perform in Music for Miracles at the Palladium on May 18 from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m., according to Michael Pote, Director of Jazz Ensembles.
“[Music for Miracles] is a fundraiser combining performing arts students from across the Carmel school district to raise money for Riley Children’s Hospital,” Leo Biette, organizer for Music for Miracles and Speaker of the House, said. The event is a collaboration with student government for Riley’s Dance Marathon.
The Jazz Ensemble members have been working on this project throughout the year, according to Pote.
“As we’ve been preparing for this, we’re just going to play a compilation of things we’ve done during the season and at other events,” Pote said.
In addition to raising money for Riley’s Children Hospital, the intent of this event is to give younger groups the opportunity to perform on the stage, according to Biette.
“It’s a great cause and another way to be involved to the school besides having our concerts,” Pote said.
