The Icehounds gold team will compete against Lawrence at The Forum in Fishers Feb. 7 at 8 p.m., marking the start of the Hoosier League Tournament. This game comes after a 4-2 loss to Zionsville at home on Feb. 1.
Michael Bozoian, head coach of the Carmel Icehounds gold team, said via email, “We did not play very well against Zionsville. I give Zionsville a lot of credit for that. They outcompeted us for pucks, and played hard. However, we made the game easy for them. We came out flat and made soft plays.”
Logan Gentile, right wing and defenseman for the Icehounds gold team and junior, said, “(The Zionsville loss) will motivate us to not play (like) last time. We have to play better.” He said he thinks the team will beat Lawrence.
Bozoian said, “I think players look forward to playing meaningful hockey games…These next few weekends provide the players with an opportunity to compete for league and state championships. Having that opportunity is always fun.”
