If you do not wipe the ball, there could be residual oil, which can affect how the ball reacts when it goes down the lane. I always clean my balls in order to have a consistent reaction and always get a strike.”

Speech team starts off semester with two upcoming meets

On Jan. 23, the speech team will be having the first tournament of the semester at Hamilton Heights, according to speech team sponsor John Love.

Love also said speech team will be hosting a meet here on Jan. 29. According to Love, these meets consist of various categories that students can compete in.

“Students can pick which event they want to compete in,” Love said.

He said that the team doesn’t practice as a whole. “Preparation for each competition or meet is individual.” By Hera Ashraf <[email protected]>
